A Child’s Grief

79c18126eb3fedfdeee2f7d0f1fdd9fdIn what we do, we never know in what ways our children we serve will need us next.

This week, we had the unfortunate news that a parent whose children has been with our program  for many years had decided to end her life. As we as professionals grapple with the emotions that we feel personally, it has also been a challenge this week to plan for how we can best support the children – our #1 priority.

Reflecting on all of this has made us more experienced professionals, a stronger support system and community and gave us a small opportunity for reflection in our own lives.
